How does Bavian’s budget limit work?

Updated 20 October 2026

Bavian's budget limit is your total daily budget, the amount you set on the Budget page in Bavian. Bavian puts all of it on your campaigns' daily budgets, and the budgets it sets never add up to more. How much the campaigns actually spend is up to Google, and it can be less.

Bavian never raises the total on its own. When more budget would pay off, it suggests a higher total on the Agent page, and only the owner can approve it.

Why a single day can cost more

Google decides how fast a campaign spends. On a busy day it can spend up to twice the campaign's daily budget, and less on other days. Over a calendar month, Google won't charge a campaign more than 30.4 times its average daily budget. So one day can cost more than your total, but it evens out over the month.

What counts towards the limit

Every campaign Bavian manages counts, except Local Services campaigns and campaigns with a total budget instead of a daily one.

When someone changes a campaign by hand

  • If a person switches a campaign on, in Google Ads or on Bavian's Campaigns page, your total goes up by that campaign's daily budget.
  • If someone changes a campaign's budget by hand in Google Ads, your total goes up or down by the difference, and the campaign is marked Set by you on the Budget page.
  • Pausing a campaign doesn't change your total.

These changes can raise your total by at most half of it in a day. Beyond that, your total stays as it is, and Bavian lowers your other campaigns to make room.

Changes from scripts, automated rules or other tools don't raise the total. If they push your budgets above it, Bavian brings them back within the total.
