Can I set a maximum cost per click?

Updated 19 October 2026

Not in Bavian. The Bidding page sets what your campaigns aim for, such as A cost per conversion or A return on spend, not a price per click. If what you care about is what a sale or lead costs, a cost per conversion is the closest control.

Set a limit in Google Ads

Google's Maximize clicks and Target impression share bid strategies take a maximum cost per click, called a max CPC bid limit. If you set one on a campaign's bid strategy in Google Ads after you've turned on Autopilot, Bavian treats it as your choice. It keeps the strategy and your limit, and it won't move that campaign to bidding for conversions until you set a goal for it on the Bidding page.

Max CPC bids you set on keywords or ad groups aren't kept: Bavian may change them as it manages the account.

Good to know

  • A max CPC doesn't cap your spend. Your daily budgets do.
  • On your brand campaign, Bavian may itself use Target impression share with a max CPC it sets.
