Bavian

Where can I see which searches triggered my ads?

Updated 20 October 2026

The Search terms page in Bavian lists the searches people made when your ads showed, with each search's clicks, impressions, CTR, cost, average cost per click and conversions. It covers your Search, Shopping and Performance Max campaigns, whether Bavian manages them or not. Smart campaigns aren't included.

Reading the list

  • Choose the period at the top, from the last 7 days to the last year, or a range of your own of up to a year.
  • Search by term, keyword, campaign or ad group, or filter by Campaign and Ad group.
  • Rows marked Performance Max* are Google's search categories rather than single searches, with an estimated cost.

From Search and Shopping, the page shows at most the 1,000 rows you spent most on, and says so when some may be missing. A shorter period then includes more. Google also hides searches that too few people made, to protect their privacy.

Download CSV saves every row your filters show.

Block a search

If a search doesn't fit your business, click Exclude on its row. To block several at once or add a reason, select them and click Exclude as negative. Bavian then blocks that search, and longer searches that contain it, on the Search, Shopping and Performance Max campaigns it manages. You can't block Performance Max rows this way, and blocking only works once Autopilot manages the account.

The searches you block appear on the Negative keywords page, which you open from the Keywords page. There you can change a block's match type to Exact, so it blocks only that exact search, and Allow again removes a block.

If Bavian built your Search campaigns, you can bid on a search instead: add it as a keyword with Add keyword on the Keywords page.

What Bavian does with your searches

Every day, Bavian looks at the last 30 days of searches. It can block searches that cost money without bringing results, and add good ones as keywords.
