What is the difference between Approval Mode and Autopilot?
Updated 20 October 2026
Autopilot and Approval are the two modes Bavian's agent can work in, and they decide which changes wait for your yes. Autopilot is also the name of your subscription. The mode doesn't change the price or the subscription.
Autopilot mode
This is the default. Bavian makes its changes on its own, but asks you first before, for example:
- changing your total daily budget, up or down;
- adding a new Search campaign that nobody asked for, other than a brand or competitor campaign;
- removing a campaign, ad group or ad;
- adding some of the new ads it suggests for weak or missing ads in campaigns it took over.
Approval mode
Every change the agent starts itself waits for your yes.
In both modes, most things you ask for in the chat on the Agent page in Bavian go ahead straight away. Bavian's routine upkeep goes on too, such as keeping your campaign budgets within your total daily budget.
Switch mode
- In Bavian, open the Agent page.
- On the status card, click the mode next to Agent mode.
- Choose Approval or Autopilot.
Anyone on your team can switch to Approval, but only the owner can switch back to Autopilot.
Approve a change
Changes that wait for you appear above the message box on the Agent page. Hover over one to see why, then click Approve, or ✕ to turn it down. Only the owner can approve changes that affect spending. A change nobody answers is dropped after 10 days, and Bavian suggests it again if it still makes sense.
Pausing is different
To stop the agent's changes for a while, click Active on the Agent page, then Pause. Your campaigns keep running, and Resume starts the agent again.
