How do I activate Autopilot?
Updated 20 October 2026
Autopilot is the service in which Bavian manages your Google Ads account every day, within your daily budget. You turn it on from the Insights page once you've set up Bavian.
Before you turn it on
If your Google Ads account already has campaigns, Insights first shows Bavian's Initial analysis of it, which usually takes 10 to 25 minutes, and then the plan under How your campaigns will start. Bavian takes over the campaigns it can manage, running or paused, and the plan shows which of them run at the start and what each gets. If there's nothing to take over, as in a new Google Ads account, the plan shows what Bavian builds instead: a Search campaign for what you sell and one for your brand, plus a Shopping campaign for an online store.
If campaigns are running, your daily budget starts at what their daily budgets add up to today, and you can change it with adjust budget in the Start Autopilot box. If none are, set it yourself there with set budget before you start.
Turn on Autopilot
- In Bavian, open Insights and read the analysis and the plan.
- Check the daily budget in the Start Autopilot box at the bottom.
- Click Turn on Autopilot.
- If you don't have a subscription yet, pay in the secure checkout: $150 a month, excluding VAT. Only the owner can pay. That's the person marked Owner under Team on the Account page.
- Wait for Autopilot active. You can leave the page meanwhile.
You can pay while the analysis is still running. Autopilot then starts as soon as the analysis and the plan are done.
If you already have a subscription, anyone on your team can turn on Autopilot as soon as the plan is ready. Your subscription includes three managed ad accounts, meaning three Google Ads accounts that Bavian manages. For each one after that, the owner ticks the box to add a managed ad account when turning it on. It costs $50 a month, or $500 a year with yearly billing.
Once Autopilot is active, Bavian goes through your account once a day. Its first daily run usually starts within 20 minutes.
If you can't turn it on
Bavian says what's missing, usually in the Start Autopilot box. For example:
- No Google Ads connection: Insights shows No active Google Ads connection instead. Click Reconnect Google Ads and connect the account again.
- An online store whose Shopping import isn't finished: the box says Your Shopping import isn't complete yet. Wait for it to finish. If the Shopping page no longer shows Importing your products…, click Setup there, then Import feed.
- New campaigns without a location: click Set locations.
- A daily budget below the minimum: the box says the lowest amount.
- Your first payment is still being confirmed: give it a little while. If it doesn't go through, you can pay again.
- A payment didn’t go through: the owner clicks Update payment method and updates the card or pays the open invoice.
If the analysis fails twice, contact us.
Pause or stop
On the Agent page, you can set Agent mode to Approval, where the agent's changes wait for your yes. Or pause the agent: click Active, then Pause. Anyone on your team can do either and click Resume later, but only the owner can set Agent mode back to Autopilot.
While it's paused, the agent makes no changes, but Bavian's routine upkeep goes on, such as keeping your campaign budgets within your total daily budget. Your campaigns keep running, and your subscription continues.
To stop for good, the owner goes to Managed ad accounts on the Account page:
- Stop managing stops Bavian's work on that account right away, but doesn't change what you pay.
- Cancel subscription ends your subscription at the end of the period you've paid for, and Bavian keeps managing until then. Resume subscription undoes it before that date.
Either way, your campaigns keep running and spending in Google Ads, so pause them there if you want your ads to stop.
