Is the Free plan read-only, or can Bavian change my Google Ads account?
Updated 19 October 2026
On the Free plan, Bavian only reads your Google Ads account. It writes its Initial analysis and start plan, and shows your figures on pages such as Insights, Campaigns and Search terms, but it changes nothing until you click Turn on Autopilot.
Google's permission itself isn't read-only. When you connect, Google asks whether Bavian may see, edit, create and delete your Google Ads data, because it has no read-only version for apps. It's Bavian that keeps the Free plan read-only: everything that would change your account, including Bavian's agent and buttons such as switching a campaign on or off, waits until you turn on Autopilot.
Good to know
- Negative keywords you add on the Negative keywords page are saved in Bavian, and only sent to Google Ads once Autopilot runs your campaigns.
