How do I target a city or specific geographic radius?

Updated 20 October 2026

You set it on the Locations & languages page in Bavian. A city, postcode or address you add becomes a circle around it, 20 km by default, which you can set between 1 and 100 km.

Target a city or radius

  1. Open Locations & languages. Choose The same everywhere, or choose Different per campaign and open the campaign.
  2. Search for the city, postcode or address and pick it, or click the map.
  3. Under Selected locations, set its radius with the slider. Drag the pin to move the centre.
  4. To show ads only there, remove your country with its bin icon.
  5. Click Save changes, or Save to all campaigns if you chose The same everywhere.

Good to know

  • A country or region is targeted as a whole, without a radius.
  • A city you add is a circle around its centre, not the city's own borders.
  • To keep a place out, find it by name and click its exclude icon. You can exclude a city, region or country, but not a radius or an address.
  • By default, Google can also show your ads to people outside the area who are interested in it.
