Can I prevent Bavian from changing specific campaigns?
Updated 20 October 2026
Not completely. Bavian manages every campaign that runs in your Google Ads account, and there's no setting that takes one campaign out. But you can decide the parts you care about yourself, and your choice stands. Bavian only reverses it if something new comes up that costs you money or breaks a rule.
Decide parts of a campaign yourself
- On or off: switch the campaign on the Campaigns page, or in Google Ads.
- Budget: click Set this budget yourself on its row on the Budget page in Bavian. It stays at that amount until you click Let Bavian decide it again, but Bavian can still change its keywords, ads and bids.
- Bidding: choose Different per campaign on the Bidding page and set the campaign's goal.
- Places and languages: save the campaign's own places and languages on the Locations & languages page.
- Most changes you make by hand in Google Ads, such as ads you edit or pause, stay as you made them. See Can I make changes directly in Google Ads while Bavian manages the account?
Ask in the chat
You can ask in the chat on the Agent page, for example "Keep the Brand campaign on". Bavian may then offer to make it a standing instruction: click Answer, then Yes, keep it that way, and it holds for every later run. A rule you only write in the chat or in Memory, such as "don't touch the Brand campaign", doesn't lock the campaign.
For the whole account
- In Approval mode, most changes Bavian starts itself wait for your yes.
- To pause the agent, click Active on the Agent page, then Pause.
- Stop managing on the Account page ends Bavian's work on the account.
