Can Bavian show how many people search for a keyword?
Updated 23 October 2026
Bavian works from the searches that actually show your ads, with their impressions, clicks, cost and conversions, rather than from Google's estimates of how many people search for a keyword each month. So neither the pages in Bavian nor the chat give you a monthly search volume.
Why your own searches beat volume estimates
Search volume estimates are useful for popular keywords. But they often miss the searches that matter most for a smaller business or a niche:
- Google's Keyword Planner doesn't show keywords with very low search volume, even though many of them together can add up to a lot of customers.
- About 15% of the searches Google sees each day are ones it has never seen before, according to Google. No estimate covers those.
- Keyword Planner also leaves out keywords Google considers sensitive, often in areas like health or finance, and its numbers are rounded.
Your own account has fewer of those gaps: the searches that showed your ad are there, with what they cost and what they brought. That's why Bavian mainly adds keywords for searches that have proved they bring results, follows how they do, and blocks searches that cost money without results.
If you want an estimate anyway
Keyword Planner in your Google Ads account estimates how many searches a keyword gets each month. Google's guide shows how to use it. A search with no estimate there can still bring you customers.
Good to know
- Impressions on the Search terms page show how often a search showed your ad, not how often people searched for it.
- The chat on the Agent page can tell you which of your keywords Google rarely shows because too few people search for them.
