Do I need to set up a data processing agreement (DPA) with Bavian?
Updated 23 October 2026
No, you don't need one. A data processing agreement (DPA) is for a company that handles personal data on your behalf, such as your customer list. Bavian doesn't. It manages your Google Ads from campaign figures and results, never from personal data about your customers or the people who see your ads.
What Bavian works with
- Your campaigns, budgets, keywords, ads and products.
- Totals such as clicks, cost and conversions, never who clicked or bought.
- Search terms, without who searched.
- Customer lists only by name, never who is on them.
- Tags Bavian sets up in Google Tag Manager, with your yes, send their data to Google, not to Bavian.
The personal data we look after
The personal data Bavian holds is about you and your team as Bavian users, such as your names, email addresses and chats with Bavian. We use it to run your Bavian account: it's how you sign in, and how Bavian knows which changes in your campaigns are yours, so it can keep them. We look after it under our privacy policy.
