Why does Bavian's supplemental data source say "Not created in Merchant Center"?

Usually because Bavian has nothing to send yet. Bavian creates its supplemental data source in Merchant Center only once it has something to add to your products, such as the label its own Shopping campaigns filter on. Until then, the Your product feeds card shows Never under File generated and Not created in Merchant Center under Supplemental source. You find the card on the Shopping page, under Stored.
Do I need it?
Mainly for Bavian's own Shopping campaigns. Your own Shopping and Performance Max campaigns don't use its labels. If Bavian runs no Shopping campaigns for you, a missing data source is usually nothing to fix.
When it appears
The labels wait until Bavian starts building its own Shopping campaigns, after you turn on Autopilot. Once Bavian has something to send, it adds a data source called SUPPLEMENTAL DATA SOURCE FOR SHOPPING ADS to your Merchant Center, and the card shows when the file was generated. Don't delete it.
Good to know
- If Bavian runs Shopping campaigns for you and the card still says Not created in Merchant Center, write to support@bavian.com with a screenshot of the card.
